Che Part 1: The Argentine

20 11 2010

Rating: Rated R

Runtime: 134 minutes

Rotten Tomatoes: 6.3/10, 66%

Benicio del Toro, who played Che, in this movie, certainly deserved his award of Best Actor in this film. His role was moving and convincing. Unfortunately, those who do not know the history of Che and the Cuban Revolution could easily have gotten lost in the sequence of events.

This film also does not shy away from showing every detail of the war and consists primarily of the interaction of Che and his followers. However dull this makes the movie, it also makes it more real. It shows how war and even revolutions are not always glorious, but bloody and strenuous. For anyone looking to learn more about the Cuban Revolution I would recommend this film.
